3. What Data We Collect and Why
When registering and using simpli.menu, we collect: • Email address and password (encrypted) for authentication • Display name / account holder name • Location name, address and description • Profile images and location images you upload • Menu content (dishes, categories, prices, allergens) • Payment data (processed directly via Stripe — we do not store credit card details) Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (contract performance) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interests).
4. Firebase (Google)
We use Firebase by Google Ireland Limited for authentication, database, file storage and server-side functions. Data may be transferred to the USA under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. More: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
5. Stripe (Payment Processing)
Payments are processed by Stripe Payments Europe Ltd., Dublin, Ireland. We do not store credit card details. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. More: https://stripe.com/privacy
6. Google Vertex AI (AI Features)
For AI-powered menu translation and allergen suggestions, we use Google Vertex AI. Only menu content (dish names, descriptions) is transmitted — no personal guest data. Processing occurs only on explicit request. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
7. Hosting
simpli.menu is hosted on Google Firebase (Google Cloud Platform) within the EU/EEA. Technical access logs (IP, timestamp, browser) are stored for up to 30 days.
